Congratulations to the staff and students at Royal Elementary School! They've exceeded growth for three years in a row and their performance grade grew by eight points last year.  Royal's growth score was in the top 15% of the state last year and they had the highest growth composite of all the elementary and charter schools in Franklin County. Way to go, Royal Knights!

Dr. Westbrook was named the 2024-2025 FCS Principal of the Year!  His family and school family were able to celebrate this honor with him on October 16, 2024 at a school-wide assembly. Congratulations, Dr. Westbrook! Thanks for all that you do for Royal Elementary School!

Open House for the 2024-25 school year will be on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.  Come out to meet your child's teacher, learn about bus routes, and more! We're looking forward to seeing all of our Royal knights!

Royal Elementary will have its annual Literacy Night on Thursday, March 7 from 6:00-7:00 PM. There will be book tastings, readings, a book walk, and more! We look forward to seeing all of our Royal Knight families.

Every Wednesday morning, beginning February 7, students will have the opportunity to stop by the school store.  It will be open from 7:20-7:45.

Students in 3rd-5th grade will take their ELA Check-In on Thursday, January 18.  Fifth graders will take their Science Check-In on Wednesday, January 17.  

Please make sure that students come to school on time with a charged Chromebook.  Ensure they have a healthy breakfast and a good night's sleep in order to be prepared for their day.

Mrs. Cook was chosen as the December teacher of the month from HIS radio! 

Amy Cook, the Royal Elementary Art Teacher, received a surprise visit on December 13, 2023.  She had been nominated and chosen as a recipient of the HIS Radio Teacher of the Month.  This honor is given to a teacher who has been instrumental in helping children in their studies and growth.  Congratulations, Mrs. Cook!

The Royal Elementary annual Fall Festival is Thursday, November 9 from 6-8pm. There will games and activities for the whole family, food trucks, and vendors. We look forward to seeing everyone Thursday evening.

We will show our support of bullying prevention with spirit week.  Each day will have a theme so that students can unite together for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. 

October is National Bullying Prevention Month.  It is a month long event to prevent childhood bullying and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. For the week of October 16-20, RES will show our support of bullying prevention with spirit week.  Each day will have a theme so that students can unite together for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.  

  • Monday, October 16:
    • Take a Step in the Right Direction and Say NO to Bullying
      • Wear crazy socks or mismatched shoes.
  • Tuesday, October 17:
    • ​​​​​​​Successful Students Don’t Bully
      • ​​​​​​​Dress for success by wearing your best dress or tie.
  • Wednesday, October 18:
    • ​​​​​​​Unity Day! Unite Against Bullying
      • ​​​​​​​Wear orange.
  • Thursday, October 19:
    • ​​​​​​​Wake Up to a Bully Free World
      • ​​​​​​​Wear pajamas! All pajamas must be appropriate
        and follow the dress code. Shoes must be worn.
  • Friday, October 20:

      • ​​​​​​​Wear your favorite sports team shirt or Royal shirt.

Join us for "Cheers and Tears" on the first full day of kindergarten on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, between 7:20-8:00 a.m. 

After you drop off your kindergartener, please join us for a parent reception with light refreshments in the STEM Lab. The School Counselor and PTO officers will be available, and kindergarten parents will be able to meet one another.
