Amy Cook has been teaching in Franklin County Schools for 30 years. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Art Education from the University of South Carolina and has completed her license requirements to teach K-12 Art. She is beginning her 5th school year as Royal Elementary School's Art Teacher and is very excited to see all the amazing projects her students will be creating!

She loves to spend time with her family. The beach is her favorite place to be. She has in education for 21 years and has been at Royal Elementary since it was opened. Her favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys.

Mr. Maloney is starting his 27th year of teaching Physical Education and his 7th year here at Royal Elementary. Physical Fitness is very important for all students to develop in their primary years and we will spend a lot of time developing and building up our Personal Fitness levels in PE. Please make sure you have your PE shoes and water bottles on your assigned PE day.
Outside of school, Mr. Maloney loves to play and watch sports and spends most of his evenings watching his teenage children play football and volleyball. Mr. Maloney also enjoys visiting his daughter in college at the beach :)

Mrs. Spicer received her Associates degree in music performance (1992) in Northern New York where she and her husband are from. She went back to school and received her Bachelor’s degree in music education in 2016 from Meredith College, NC. She has been a substitute teacher for Franklin County Schools for 10 years before starting her full time teaching position with FCS. She taught music 1 year in Wake County, 7 years at Youngsville Elementary and transferred to Royal Elementary for the 2025/2026 school year.
She loves to spend time with her husband, three sons, daughter, daughter-n-law, four grandchildren and many "Furbabies." She also enjoys riding bikes, walking, kayaking and visiting family in other states, and, of course, music! All types of music, but especially teaching music to her students!
