Mr. Zellmer is the new music teacher here at Royal Elementary School. Before coming here, he taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade for four years each. Mr. Zellmer was also an elementary assistant principal for six years and an elementary principal for six more.

He was married in 2001; his wife, Lynn, works at Youngsville Elementary as a reading intervention teacher. They have two daughters: Mariana is in her first year at UNC Chapel Hill, and Isabella is a junior at Wake Forest High School. Their two cats, Nugget and Rascal, round out the family.

When he’s not at school, Mr. Zellmer loves to play golf, read, and watch documentaries. He is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and follows all of their sports teams fanatically!

One of his favorite quotes is from Jean-Michael Basquiat:

“Art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time.”
