Melinda Farmer is 5th grade science teacher at Royal Elementary School. This is her 4th year at Royal and her 21st in education. She received her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington and her lateral entry teaching certification through North Carolina Central University. She loves soccer, fishing, going to the beach, putting together jigsaw puzzles and reading. Sharks are her favorite animal and she loves everything about the ocean. Every year is an exciting challenge for her to get students to love and understand the world of science as much as she does. She looks forward to a great year with each and every one of her 5th grade students.

Mrs. Perry is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Strayer University. She has a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters in Education. She is recently married and has a 1 year old son and 4 bonus children whom she adores. Mrs. Perry has always had a love for children of all ages and a desire to help children grow and thrive in all areas of their lives. She has been a mentor for many years to youth in her church as well as the community. She is the 5th grade Math teacher here at Royal Elementary and plans to continue growing in skill and knowledge to be able to be an even better resource for children for years to come.
